With more than 30 shipyards and related companies all over the world, Damen Shipyards Group is involved in new construction as well as maintenance and repair activities. Damen shipbuilding activities include a wide range of products, such as tugs, workboats, patrol craft, cargo vessels, dredgers and even mega yachts and fast ferries. Product design and engineering are carried out in-house and a broad range of designs is available.

Gotaverken Cityvarvet is one of the Operating Units of the Damen Shipyards Group and based in Goteborg Sweden. Götaverken Cityvarvet is a middle size organization, mainly engaged in (international) ship repairs and operates 2 floating drydocks and approximately 1000 meters of repair quay. The company permanently employs approximately 125 staff of which 25 white-collar. The annual revenue is around 30 Million Euro.

Job Profile

The Managing Director of Gotaverken Cityvarvet is responsible for the successful operation of the shipyard and is accountable for delivering the financial and operational targets set by the Group.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The Managing Director has 6 direct reports. He/she is responsible for determining the commercial strategy and delivery of excellent service towards the customers. He is, together with the Commercial Manager, responsible for negotiating and executing contracts and maintaining excellent relations with (key-) accounts.

He/she is responsible for maintaining internal and external relationships, representing the Damen Shipyards Group towards governmental and semi-governmental institutions. He is a member of local, regional and national employers and industrial organisations. The Managing Director, together with the HR Manager, is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with Unions and Work’s Councils.

The Managing Director leads the company in a structured and sustainable way to the next levels of organizational performance by developing the management skills of his direct reports and by initiating a performance driven management culture.

• Has proven capabilities to lead an organization to higher performance levels.
• Is fluent in Swedish and English
